About The Conference

Agriculture is a backbone of the Indian Economy and our rich agricultural heritage is blessed with the ensured annual monsoon, varieties of farming soil, seasons, seeds, techniques, water resources. In India, 60.43 % of the total land is cultivable as against 11% in the world. . India is blessed with large arable land with 15 agro-climatic zones as defined by ICAR, having almost all types of weather conditions, soil types and capable of growing a variety of crops. Modern science and agro-technology is boon for meeting the huge demand for food and medicine. Varieties of seasons in India promote different seasonal crops, fruits, vegetables in diverse land of India which is blessed with ample sunshine, wind, and water. For ages, we are blessed with a rich heritage of agricultural knowledge and practices which are eco-friendly.
With all this strength Indian Agriculture supports our economy of at least 75 % population of India in direct or indirect ways. India can become the food supplier of the world. India is the top producer of milk, spices, pulses, tea, cashew, and jute, and the second-largest producer of rice, wheat, oilseeds, fruits and vegetables, sugarcane, and cotton. India has a huge opportunity to become a leading global food supplier if only it has the right marketing strategies and of course agile, adaptive, and efficient supply chain. In the next ten years, food production is expected to double. These products, if processed and marketed smartly, can make India a leading food supplier in the world. We have tremendous possibilities of agro-based processing, manufacturing, trade, and exports and establish ourselves as “Global Food and Pharma Hub”.

India’s food processing sector is one of the largest in the world and its output is expected to reach $535 bn by 2025-26. There is vast scope in this sector because of vast natural resources and abundant agricultural produce. India’s exports of Processed Food were Rs. 36,946.20 Crores / 4,987.76 USD Million in 2020-21. One of the prime factors for the non-competitiveness of the food processing industry is the cost and quality of marketing channels. India has a huge opportunity to become a leading global food supplier if only it has the right marketing strategies and agile, adaptive, and efficient supply chain.
